Basics in stop frame & positioning

Having a talk in art direction in creating an environment and background today for animation including a quick task positioning of frames for focus on characters.

Each frame was to experiment with the placement of the shapes in a form of visual symmetry in leading the eye around the frame or at least that was how it was intended. Using triangles squares and circles I felt like adding a bit of character to them for my own amusement. Giving them some eyes or legs so they where a little more interesting than the other shapes.

The second task of the day was a initial induction to stop frame animation within groups. Seeing how the facilities and this style of animation worked using things we had around us from wild paperclips to a pair of fax fur gloves, a paintbrush and a leftover group of M&Ms. As a first attempt as a group which we created, within an hour and a half. It was a start in understanding the use of this medium and with it’s resurgence in popularity recently, which would be interesting to learn more about.
